For lawyers and practitioners
You must earn 16 CLPD points each calendar year to stay compliant. The portal tracks your progress, lets you book accredited courses, and shows exactly which courses earned each point.

- Points status — where you are vs the 16-point annual target. Bands: Critical < 8 · At-risk 8–15 · Compliant ≥ 16.
- Browse courses — every accredited course with its credit cost and points value.
- My bookings — sessions you're enrolled in.
- Filed activities — every session you've attended, with the LAD-issued ATP code that earned you the points. This is your audit trail.
Booking a course
- Open Browse courses and pick one. Each tile shows the points it's worth and how many credits it costs.
- Click Book. Credits come from your firm's pool (talk to your compliance officer if you don't have any).
- Attend the session.
- Your firm files attendance within 30 days. Points appear in your record automatically — no further action from you.
Why does "Filed activities" matter?
Every row shows the LAD accreditation code (ATP-YYYY-NNNN) of the course that earned you the points. If your record is ever audited, this is the proof that your CLPD obligations have been met.
For firm compliance officers
You are responsible for keeping every lawyer at your firm CLPD-compliant. The firm portal gives you a single view of all your lawyers, a credit pool you manage centrally, and the ability to apply for accreditation of your internal courses.
The lawyers table
One row per lawyer at your firm. Columns:
- Pts earned / Pts missing — where each lawyer is vs the 16-point target.
- Bookings — how many courses they have booked.
- Credits — credit balance allocated to them (click to assign more from the firm pool).
- Status — compliance band.
Use the filter chips at the top of the table to focus on critical or at-risk lawyers and book in bulk.
Credits: buy, assign, spend
- Buy credits from the Credits section. 1 credit = AED 120. Bulk packages save up to 25%.
- Assign credits to individual lawyers (or rebalance) using the per-lawyer credits column.
- Spend credits on bookings. Each accredited course costs 5 credits.
Applying for accreditation of an internal course
ATP-YYYY-NNNN code. Keep this — you'll need it for every attendance filing against this course.Things to know
- You only see your firm's lawyers. LAD admins see everyone; you cannot.
- You can reset a lawyer's password via the user-admin screen (LAD admin needed for now; coming soon for firm CO).
- The 30-day attendance window is hard. File late and the session won't credit your lawyers.
For accredited training providers
You submit courses for LAD accreditation, run sessions, and supply attendance lists. Every approved course gets a unique ATP code that you should display on your certificates and quote on attendance filings.
Submitting a course for accreditation
- Sign in to your provider account (initial password:
Provider@2026— rotate immediately). - Open the accreditation section and fill out the application: title, audience, format, duration, objectives, materials, trainer credentials.
- Submit. The system gives you a tracking reference (
LAD-XXXX). - LAD reviewers assess and respond by email. Typical turnaround: 5–10 working days.
What LAD looks at
- Substantive relevance to UAE legal practice.
- Trainer credibility and qualifications.
- Depth of content for the proposed duration.
- Quality of materials submitted with the application.
After approval
You receive a permanent ATP-YYYY-NNNN code. Display it on certificates and quote it on all attendance filings. Each attendee earning points must be linked to this code so their record traces back to your accredited course.
For LAD accreditation reviewers
You review accreditation applications, score them against the rubric, and approve or reject. Every approved course gets an automatic ATP code minted by the system.
The review queue
- Sign in. You'll land on the accreditation review queue.
- Filter by status (Pending / Approved / Rejected / Returned), reviewer, or free-text search.
- Click any application to open the full details on the right.
Self-assigning
Click + me on Reviewer 1 or Reviewer 2 to take ownership. Both reviewer slots must be filled before final approval. Once you're assigned, only you (and any super admin) can edit your scoring rows.
Scoring
For each rubric line, enter the points awarded against the maximum. The total + proposed CLPD points + proposed credits are editable; the system uses your final values when minting the ATP code.
AI rationale
Click Generate AI rationale to have Lex draft a 3–5 sentence balanced summary covering relevance, trainer credibility, depth, and a recommendation. You can edit it or discard.
Decision
The sticky footer always shows Approve / Reject / Request Changes / Defer.
- Approve — mints the ATP code and emails the provider. Points become awardable on attendance filings.
- Request Changes — sends back to the provider with your notes. They can resubmit.
- Reject — final. No ATP code, no points.
- Defer — keeps it pending while you wait for more info.
For LAD administrators
You have system-wide oversight: every firm, every lawyer, every accreditation. You also have the dangerous buttons (import legacy data, reset to zero on go-live, manage user accounts).
The intelligence dashboard
Top-level KPIs across all firms — total practitioners, compliance percentage, critical / at-risk counts, accreditation throughput, anomaly feed. Click any tile for a drill-down.
Training capacity planner
The simulator at #predict reads live counts from the lawyer database. Adjust the sliders to model "if we run N more courses and increase e-learning to X%, where does December compliance land?" The forecast uses real practitioner totals, not hardcoded numbers.
Migrating legacy data
- Open the LAD admin → Migrate tab.
- Drag in a CSV or XLSX (lawyers, firms, providers, courses, accreditations).
- Click Dry-run first to see what will be inserted / updated / skipped.
- If it looks right, click Commit.
email / Email / e-mail all map to email).Resetting to production zero
When you're ready to go live with real data and want to wipe test artefacts, hit POST /api/v1/admin/reset-to-zero with {"confirm":"RESET"}. Optionally scope it (e.g. {"scopes":["accreditations","points"]}) to keep firms + lawyers but clear test course data and points.
GET /admin/db-stats before and after to confirm.User accounts
The Users tab lists every staff and lawyer account. You can create new staff, reset passwords, and toggle status. Lawyers are usually imported in bulk via Migrate; staff are created here individually.
