Terms of use

By using the CLPD portal you accept these terms.
← Back to CLPD Portal

1. Eligibility

The CLPD portal is provided by the Legal Affairs Department (LAD) of the Government of Dubai for: (a) registered legal practitioners of the Dubai Bar; (b) authorised compliance officers of registered law firms; (c) accredited training providers; and (d) LAD staff. Access is by named account only.

2. Account responsibilities

3. Accurate information

Attendance records, accreditation applications, and points submissions must be accurate. Filing false attendance, duplicate certificates, or fraudulent applications is grounds for suspension, point reversal, and referral to the Dubai Bar disciplinary process.

4. Acceptable use

5. CLPD points and obligations

The points displayed in the portal are the LAD-maintained record of your CLPD compliance for the current compliance year. The annual target is set by the LAD Director General and published in the portal. Disputes about a points entry should be raised with your firm compliance officer or directly with LAD within 30 days of the entry.

6. Accreditation

Accredited course providers receive an ATP-YYYY-NNNN reference issued on approval. Attendance against that reference must be filed within 30 days of the session. Filings outside that window are rejected. LAD may revoke accreditation for cause; revocation does not retroactively cancel points already awarded.

7. Credits and payments

Credits purchased on the portal may be used only for CLPD-eligible bookings. Refunds are governed by the LAD refund policy published at legal.dubai.gov.ae. AED VAT applies where chargeable.

8. Availability

The portal is provided "as is". LAD aims for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance windows are announced in the portal banner. LAD is not liable for indirect losses arising from unavailability.

9. Intellectual property

Course materials, accreditation rubrics, scoring criteria, and the portal user interface are the property of the Legal Affairs Department or its licensors. You may not republish, modify, or redistribute without written permission.

10. Suspension and termination

LAD may suspend or revoke an account at any time for breach of these terms, regulatory direction, or operational necessity. You will be notified by email where practicable.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai courts.
